Our traditional placements usually are between 6- 12 months, and enable volunteers to develop a huge range of skills while making a positive impact in the community they are placed in. However, we recognise that this option might not be for everyone. You might not feel ready to commit to a long term placement, or only have a limited amount of time available. You may already have plans to travel, but want to add in a volunteering experience rather than just being a tourist. You might want to experience what life is actually like in these countries by volunteering with the local people and making a contribution to their community.
Our Project Based programmes in either Asia and Europe may be a good option for you!
Project Asia and Project Europe are approx. 5 months in length. You’ll be volunteering with several not-for-profit organisations in three to four different countries, working alongside locals to help achieve valuable community goals. You’ll also have specific travel weeks to explore more of the region as you transition between projects. As they are team based projects, your friends can even join you and you can travel together!
Our shorter term Greece Action Project is a great way to do something meaningful while travelling. They can be an ideal opportunity to get a taste of volunteering and build up your confidence to perhaps try a longer placement next time. The flexible duration of these projects (2 – 12 week options) may fit in better with your existing travel plans, meaning you can do both. You can even do this in addition to your Lattitude longer term placement (perhaps in the UK, Spain or Poland) and really make your time off worthwhile.
